a roller coaster enthusiast? Do you want a way to experience roller coasters when you’re
not at the local amusement park? If you answered yes to both these questions

article. :) Below are my recommendations of products that
you should check-out that are theme park/roller coaster themed products. These
items are great to have whenever you aren’t visitng the amusement park. The products I will be reviewing and
recommending are CoasterDynamix, K’nex , RollerCoaster Tycoon. What makes these products fun is their realistic approach to experiencing roller coasters. Each product is unique and fun in each of its own ways. Lets begin with talking about each product.
My
first product recommendation is the company CoasterDynamix. “CoasterDynamix makes the world's most
realistic and amazing miniature amusement rides!” This company makes awesome
models of rides, mostly roller coasters. What makes them awesome is that they
actually work! They have three coaster models currently. The HO Comet is $170
and is a wooden model of the Comet at Coney Island. It is 1/87th
scale of the original. The second coaster is the limited edition Scorpion. It
is based on the the coaster Montu. Montu is a real coaster at Busch Gardens in
Tampa, Florida. It sells for $250 and includes free shipping. The final coaster
is the Big Dipper. It is based on the classic ride from the 1920’s-1940’s. It
comes on a 4 foot by 2 foot base, so it really is a large model. It costs $400
for the kit and $600 for it already built. This company also offers some model
coaster trains that you can put on your desk or give as a gift. The stationary miniature models are priced fairly too. My final
comment on this company is that it really offers great quality products for a
decent price.
My
second recommendation is K’nex thrill rides. K’nex is the world’s most innovative
construction toy company. K’nex are little plastic pieces that connect and
create shapes. Why I recommend this product is because it offers thrill rides
and roller coasters kits. With K’nex you can make anything you can imagine. For
kits though, you can make ferris wheels, roller coasters, swing rides, etc.
Each comes with all the pieces necessary plus an instructional booklet on how
to do everything step by step. If you are feeling adventurous, then you can
create your own amusement park ride or literally anything. Depending on the kit
you buy though, it can be a little pricey. The biggest coaster K’nex sells is
Son of Serpent coaster. It is 8 foot by 5 foot by 6 foot. This kit has 5,500
pieces along with 53 feet of track. The worst part of this awesome coaster is
the price. $1,000 for the full kit is pretty steep but worth it. Smaller kits
range from $30-$70 depending on the size of the coaster. When I was younger, I would make my own thrill rides and roller coasters. It is a good brain stimulate to think critically and get your creative juices flowing. I recommend buying any
K’nex product. The product is reliable and will allow for countless hours of
enjoyment. Go pick up a kit today!
My
third product recommendation is RollerCoaster Tycoon. RollerCoaster Tycoon is a
game on the computer that allows you to make your very own amusement park. This
game allows you to create rollercoasters beyond your wildest dreams. Make it as
big and as fast as you want with no limitaitons. You also can add thrill rides
to your park for those who don’t want to ride roller coasters. Everything in
this game is what you envision. You become the owner and operator of your park
where you can personalize everything to create your ideal theme park. This is
more then making a roller coaster, this game involves critical thinking and
some amusement park knowledge. Your guests rate your park based on rides and
park environment. In this game you even get to hire security, park cleaners, repair
men, and entertainers. This is important because you get to learn also how to
maintain your park. For example, park cleaners are needed to clean up trash,
mow, and clean up puke. Guests rate your park on park cleanliness so he have to
make sure you have enough park cleaners throughout your park working. Another
awesome part of RollerCoaster Tycoon is the marketing aspect. You can make up
marketing plans to get guests to come to you park. This really teaches you about the business
side of the amusement park industry. There are multiple versions of RollerCoaster
Tycoon. There is RollerCoaster Tycoon 1-3 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 for your phone. The mobile version is free on the APP Store and Google Play store. In my opinion the game is a little childish but maybe you will enjoy it. The newest version to be released soon, RollerCoaster World, comes out in December of this
year. This game is addicting and really
fun in my opinion. Depending on the version, it is can be kind of slow with
older computers. This game has so much going on that the computer can’t keep up
with it, so I recommend downloading it on a fast computer. I will be buying
RollerCoaster World in December for $50, and I recommend that you buy it too.
To conclude,
I recommended CoasterDyanmix, K’nex, and RollerCoaster Tycoon. If I could pick
one of these products as my favorite, I would have to choose RollerCoaster
Tycoon. It is the cheapest option, but probably the most real. It allows you to
create all the different aspects of an amusement park. The other products are
great, but just not as good as RollerCoaster Tycoon. You should consider buying
