Today’s
blog post will be reviewing one of Six Flag’s newer roller coasters, X-Flight.
X-flight official took off on May 16, 2012. During that time it was the second
wing coaster to be built in the United States and only the fourth in the World!
It was also the FIRST wing coaster to be announced throughout the entire North
America.
X-Flight
travels up to 120 feet and reaches speeds of 55mph with a total length of 3,000
feet. Those stats right there are pretty much the reason why I am not a fan of
this ride. First off the height of the coaster is nothing spectacular. I like
tall roller coasters and this is far from one. I might as well go to the Ferris
wheel. Secondly, the speed of the
coaster is nothing amazing. 55 mph is an average roller coaster speed. I like
something with an awesome speed.
As for
the wing coaster in general, wing
coasters are interesting roller coasters and can be somewhat fun. The problem
with these types of coasters is that the way they are built restricts them from
going too fast and high. The experience of you being hanging away from the
tracks is pretty much the same simulated feel of a typically feet dangling
coaster.
In
conclusion, I would recommend this ride depending on its wait time. If it’s a long
wait, go to something better like Raging Bull. If it’s a short line, you might
as well hop on just to say you rode X-Flight.
